The democrats offered little in the way of plans or alternatives for our country, but instead succeeded by the current unhappiness with the bush administration and the republican controlled congress by the majority of Americans. Offering voters a change in direction, democrats failed to properly elucidate what that entails.<br /><br />In response to the overwhelming victory of the democrats, donald rumsfeld resigned as secretary of defence. In the minds of many rumsfeld has botched the war in iraq on all fronts.
